MILITARY UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY WARSAW

Military University of Technology Warsaw (MUT) is the largest military university in Poland with over 10,000 students. It conducts research, implementation and modernization of technical sciences, chemical, physical, economic and military.

Prof. Henryk Fiedorowicz received the MS degree in technical physics in 1975, a PhD in material engineering in 1989, both from MUT, and the habilitation in physics in 1998 from the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences (Warsaw). He has worked at the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion (IPPLM) in Warsaw as group leader for laser-driven spherical plasma compression. In 1992 joined IOE where he established a laser-matter interaction laboratory (www.ztl.wat.edu.pl/zoplzm), whose recent work has focused on the development, integration and applications of laser-plasma X-ray and EUV sources, including X-ray lasers. Author of over 200 scientific publications, he was Institute of Optoelectronics (IOE) Director from 2002 to 2010.

The IOE is an interdisciplinary institute at MUT and the leading such research institution in Poland. The 70 scientific and 60 engineering/technical staff pursue numerous government and industry funded research projects. The EXTATIC faculty at MUT also includes Dr. Andrzej Bartnik and Dr. Przemysław Wachulak. Dr. Bartnik received the MS degree in plasma physics in 1985, a PhD in material engineering in 1992, both from MUT and the habiliation in electronics from the IOE in 2016. He is author of about 180 scientific publications. Dr. Wachulak received the MS degree in electronics from MUT in 2004, a PhD in electrical engineering in 2008 from Colorado State University and the habilitation in physics in 2013 University of Warsaw. He is author of about 150 scientific publications.
