The EXTATIC faculty at UCD is made up of the Atomic, Molecular and Laser Plasma Physics group which has been working in the area of EUV and soft x-ray science for almost 40 years and pioneered the use of of laser produced plasmas as table-top EUV sources. Currently the group comprises 5 academic staff: Prof. Gerry O’Sullivan, Padraig Dunne, Drs. Emma Sokell, Rebekah D’Arcy and Tom McCormack and Fergal O’Reilly who between them have published ~200 papers on EUV and X-ray physics and supervised 25 PhD students to completion. The group also currently has an innovation and development officer, 6 postdoctoral fellows and 9 PhD students.
